1.Software Solutions
We develop software applications and systems for a variety of
business needs. Whenever the need arises for a software application
that is not available in the market as a pre-packaged product, we
provide the services needed to develop the necessary software. We
also customize solutions and build Microsoft Office automation
systems, and collaboration tools. We build desktop, client-server,
and n-tier systems, depending on the requirements of the particular
case. For example, we’ve been contracted for the development of the
Iraqi Customs Re-construction Customs Levy system. This system was
designed to be a simple system to assist the Iraqi government in the
collection and accounting of the 5% customs across the border entry
points in Iraq. The system had to address the special circumstances
of Iraq, in the lack of a reliable communications network, yet it
had to be scalable enough to make use of a communications network
once it was ready.

Applications
Our clients are leveraging the web to introduce new online
services to their customers. Some are offering their range of
products online, others are staying in touch with their

E-government solutions
PRIMUS has been selected as one of the 5 prime companies for the
development of the E-Government in Jordan. In addition to that,
we have been working with government ministries, agencies, and
departments prior to being selected, and after being selected
for the development of each of these agencies unique solutions.
One of the projects we’ve worked on is the E-Diwan of the Prime
Ministry of Jordan. The E-Diwan is an e-service at the Prime
Ministry’s website designed for allowing other ministries and
government departments to browse their incoming mail online
before receiving it through regular mail. The system is designed
to allow certain users at GoJ ministries and departments to log
onto a secure area of
www.pm.gov.jo
and retrieve their incoming mail from the archive system at the
Prime Ministry. Prime Ministry officials on the other hand are
able to check who logged on and retrieved their correspondence
online.
Data warehousing and OLAP
When data is collected for a prolonged period of time and
archived to assist decision makers in determining key trends and
factors, and consequently in making decisions and policies that
rely on this wealth of historical information, they need a Data
Warehousing solution with the right Analysis tools. At PRIMUS we
were involved in the creation of such a system for the Aqaba
Special Economic Zone Authority ASEZA. The system, Food Import
Management Information System (FIMIS), was one of the first OLAP
enabled Data Warehousing solution to be developed in the region.
Its purpose: to collect data related to the imported Food,
assisting decision makers to adjust policies regarding which
food items are to be inspected and tested more often, which
sources had more reliably certified paper work necessary for
importing food in Jordan, and among many other things, how
imported food safety can be managed better in general.

Hosting
Our production web servers are hosted in the United States where our
network providers are connected to multiple tier-1 providers and
offer a fully redundant physical connectivity network through an
OC-12 (622 Mb/s) circuit and an OC-12 IntelliLight Dedicated SONET
Ring (IDSR).
We manage our own dedicated machines, and we have complete control
and access over these machines. We host on Linux (for the Java
driven web applications), and on Windows for the Microsoft COM+
driven web applications.
