Platforms

The choice of platform to use for our developed solutions always depends on the business needs, requirements, and technical factors. Our products are designed and developed for the Microsoft .NET Framework. However, this does not deter us from developing solutions on any other platforms, as frequently we have done. We’ve developed solutions that work on the Java platform, others that work on the Linux/PHP open source platform, and also solutions that work on the Macromedia ColdFusion Application Server.

Bottom line is, we always analyze the business requirements first before recommending any particular platform. And based on our analysis, we make our recommendations, and we keep an open mind with regards to all technologies we’re experienced with.

Our Computing Facilities

In 1996 CNS started its business by establishing Jordan’s only web driven Bulletin Board System. At the time Internet connectivity was well beyond the reach of many, and this service provided middle ground between the Internet and the traditional Bulletin Board Services. Slowly but surely, we continued to grow, establishing our name and experience for developing web sites.

Currently we have a network of over 35 PCs and PC servers operating Microsoft Windows. Of these 35 PCs, 25 are used for software and web development. Our servers run Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Server, and host Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server, and Microsoft SQL Server. Our production web servers are hosted in the United States. We took the decision of hosting in the U.S. primarily for network connectivity and bandwidth reasons. Network connectivity and bandwidth in the U.S. are significantly better than what we have in Jordan. Furthermore, initially we started with shared servers, but now we manage our own dedicated machines, and we have complete control and access over these machines. We host on Linux and on Microsoft Windows.
